Join us for a fun Japan themed evening. Meet an official from our sister city, Oita: Takahiro Yoshikawa. Yoshikawa-san has been in Austin on an exchange program since last August. He will be providing an overview of Oita, and upcoming events they are hosting such as the Rugby World Cup.

Oita is located in the Prefecture of Oita on the island of Kyushu. This region is famous for its natural hot springs (onsen), stunning mountain ranges, tori-ten fried chicken and seafood including fugu pufferfish. We will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of this relationship in 2020.

We will also hear from GAACC's Aya Porter. Aya has and still works for SXSW Japan. Together with Yoshikawa-san, she will also provide insights on Japanese business culture, customs and answer any questions you might have about Japan in general.

We will have light bites and tastings showcasing Japanese cuisine.

Registration fee is $5 for members. Non-members pay $20 but this will include associate membership through December 31, 2019. All walk-ins pay $25 so please RSVP before registration closes Wednesday at noon.
