May 27, 2019 (Day 1): ‘’Arrival in France and accommodation in Angers’’

  • Accommodation in hotel-restaurant 4 stars.

  • A gastronomical meal twice a day. All fees included. English speaking guide.

  • Welcome aperitif and gift offered by Angers Loire Tourisme.

May 28, 2019 (Day 2): ‘‘Angers, Art and History

  • Visit of the Castle of Angers and famous Apocalypse tapestry.

  • City tour and visit of the Lurcat tapestry museum.

May 29,  2019  (Day 3) ‘‘Angevin Know-How’’

  • Visit of the Trelaze slate mining center.  Museum and exploitation techniques.

  • Cocktail  workshop at Carre Cointreau.  Discover the secret of manufacturing of a liquor.

  • Visit of the Castle of Brissac, inhabited by the duke of Brissac family since 1502.

  • Visit of a winery. Indulge yourself in an another wine degustation. Lunch at the Castle.

  • Welcome cocktail offered by the city of Angers

May 30,  2019 (Day 4): ’’ Saumur, land of the French Cavalry, Discovery of a city turned toward the Loire river’’

  • Visit of the Cunault medieval church.

  • Saumur museum of the Tanks or museum of the Cavalry.

  • Lunch in a troglodyte restaurant.

  • Guided visit of Fontevraud Abbey, the widest monastic ensemble of the Occident.
    Fontevraud is home to the famous tombstones of the Plantagenet rulers: Henri II, Richard the Lionheart, Eleanor of Aquitaine.  Guided tour of a wine cellar in Saumur. Learn the “Champagne” recipe.

May 31,  2019 (Day 5)    ‘‘Private Castles and Hunting Ground in Anjou’’

  • Visit of the King Rene d’Anjou’s  Bauge Castle and its apothecary.

  • Lunch on the Loire river bank.

  • Visit of the Castle of Plessis-Bourre, with its extraordinary ceilings.  

  • Guest of a Garden-Party offered by  Angers’s French families  

June 1,  2019 (Day  6): “Angers Art and History”

  • Visit of the famous sculptor David d’Angers’ s gallery.

  • Visit of the Saint Martin 6th century collegiate church.

  • Afternoon visit a la carte: Atoll mall, Saint Edward campus, City gardens, shopping, etc

  • Au revoir banquet.

June 2,  2019 (Day 7): “Au Revoir Angers”

  • Another buffet- breakfast as usual.

  • End of the tour.

Hints : Start before the 26th of May  2019 from Austin for a few days to visit Paris, or extend your stay in France after the 2th of June 2019 to visit Paris or the landing beaches in Normandy or the French Riviera.
